If you're not a member but would like to join us for this year's Summit 2023: The Business of Giving Back we have a special offer: For $75 you can join as a Professional member for one year and receive admission to this year's Summit. That's a savings of $25. 

As for the Summit, this year we will focus on how many local leaders and businesses are combining corporate philanthropy with profitability to support charities whose missions align with their objectives in an effort to build stronger, more equitable communities. We will also delve into how area non-profits are finding creative ways tap into charitable grants and revenue streams and leverage resources to strengthen the Capital Region.

Women@Work's signature event will feature a keynote speaker and two panel discussions:

Keynote speaker: Donna Kalajian Lagani

Donna serves as vice president and Eastern director of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation of California and the Hearst Foundation, Inc. of New York. Kalajian Lagani joined the Hearst Foundations in 2019 as senior program officer after nearly 25 years at Hearst Magazines. The Hearst Foundations are national philanthropic resources for organizations working in the fields of culture, education, health and social services. Since 1945, the Foundations have made over 20,000 grants totaling more than $1.1 billion.

Panel 1: The Next Nonprofit: How nonprofit organizations are finding creative ways to tap into economic opportunities and empower their communities. 

- Jennifer Lawrence, founder and CEO of the Social Enterprise and Training Center (SEAT)
- Elizabeth Dubben, executve director, Collar Works
- Alexandria Carver, director, Housing Counseling at Better Community Neighborhoods, Inc. 

Panel 2: Investing in a mission: Local businesses find ways to combine profitability with contributions to the communities around them.

- Lisa Munter, founder and president, Knitt
- Kizzy Williams, owner and head chef, Allie B's Cozy Kitchen
- Jennifer Hunold, general manager (Albany) and account supervisor, The Martin Group

Doors will open at 8 a.m. The event will include coffee and breakfast.
